God created our minds, so he understands how complex our thoughts can be, and that our greatest asset is also our biggest battleground.
God’s word contains many powerful Bible verses to transform our minds. Here are some verses that I have found to be powerful, together with broad examples of words that I have prayed:
You anoint my head with oil, Psalm 23:5.
Father I anoint name’s head with your soothing and healing oil – that your truth and love would soak through their mind, bringing them peace in Jesus’ name.
Through faith they shut the mouths of lions, Hebrews 11:33. The enemy is roaring his lies into people’s minds, and we have the authority to stop this and shut these lions up. The Bible says that our enemy prowls around like a roaring lion.
You cannot ignore me because I have the authority as a Christian to shut your mouth in Jesus’ name. You will no longer be able to lie to name – you will no longer speak fear into their mind. I shut your mouth right now in Jesus’ name. Thank you God, what a privilege it is to be able to do this.
For God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind, 2 Timothy 1:7.
Father, you did NOT give name a spirit of fear. Name, God does not want you to be afraid. I stand against these fears and phobias, in Jesus’ name, and say that they have no right to be there and no place in your mind and heart. The Holy Spirit is freely available for you, to minister to you and fill you with his healing love. God gives you a spirit of truth and boldness, and a sound mind. I bind up the spirit of fear in your mind because whatever is bound on earth is bound in heaven. I release the Holy Spirit into your mind, to bring truth and peace, in Jesus’ name.
We demolish every argument that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, 2 Corinthians 10:5. We can use the truth of the Word of God to stand against clever arguments, lies and confusion.
I demolish this lie from the enemy in name’s life – it cannot stand against the truth of God’s word or the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Nor can it stand against me – I’m a Christian and I have the authority from God to destroy this argument and to establish the full truth in name’s mind and life.
We take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ, 2 Corinthians 10:5. The Greek word for ‘take captive’ is ‘aichmalotizo’ which means to control, to conquer, to bring into submission.
I stand against these thoughts in name’s mind and life in Jesus’ name. I take them captive – they must submit to my authority as a Christian. I bind them up fatally with God’s strong rope so that they are powerless to work. I destroy them in Jesus’ name.
You will not fear the terror of the night, Psalm 91:5. We declare over those who have nightmares and night terrors that Jesus delivers and protects us from all fears through his perfect love, and the peace won on the cross.
Name, you will not fear the night – no fear will reach you. You will sleep well, protected and safe in God’s hand, and I proclaim a deep peace in your mind and heart, and in your bedroom, in Jesus’ name.
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, Romans 12:2. Jesus makes all things new – he is able to transform our minds with his love and healing.
I pray that name’s mind would no longer conform or want to conform to the pattern of this world. I pray that their mind would break free from all the lies and confusion, and be completely transformed by the sanctifying blood of Jesus Christ.
Our enemy has blinded the minds of unbelievers so that they cannot see the light of the gospel, 2 Corinthians 4:4. Jesus restores the sight of the blind, both physically and spiritually.
I pray that you would open name’s eyes, Jesus, to see your truth and love. No more blindness in their eyes or heart – give them full sight in Jesus’ name, to see every good thing you have for them.
The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds, 2 Corinthians 10:4. Our weapons are our faith in God’s ability, our thanks and praise for Jesus’ victory, and the Bible, which offers a God-inspired verse for every battle.
Thank you Father that you have given me divine weapons to demolish strongholds in people’s minds. I stand against this stronghold in name’s mind, and I demolish it in the name of Jesus. I’m a Christian, and what I say carries the power and authority of Jesus my Lord and Saviour. Nothing can prevent this happening, because it is in your perfect will, in Jesus’ name.
For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness, and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, Colossians 1:13.
Father, thank you that you are the one to rescue name from their darkness – bring them into a place where your light shines healing, wholeness and peace in Jesus’ name.
The word of God is living and active – sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates, Hebrews 4:12.
I pray that the truth of your Word would come into name’s mind and bring freedom and peace in Jesus’ name. Thank you for the Bible verses about ……, I pray that they would be active in name’s mind and bear much fruit. They will know the truth, and the truth will set them free. John 8:32.
Jesus went into the desert in the fullness of the Spirit, to be tempted by the enemy, and he returned in the power of the Spirit after having his mind and heart tested, and successfully defeating the enemy’s attack on his mind and will. Luke 4: 1-13.
Father I pray that the tests that name is going through would bring the power of the Holy Spirit into their life, and that they would grow stronger to fight and win these battles.
There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Jesus Christ, Romans 8: 1.
I demolish the stronghold of the spirit of condemnation in name’s life – there is no condemnation for those who are safe in Jesus Christ. I release the Holy Spirit into their mind and heart to bring freedom. Soak their mind and heart in the atoning blood of Jesus Christ.
Jesus calmed a storm when the disciples were afraid in a boat on the open sea. (Mark 4:35-41). They said Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him? Jesus has the power to calm the storm in their mind.
Father, thank you that Jesus is the name above every name, and he can calm any storm. I pray in Jesus’ name that this storm would stop and be calm, and that your peace would take over completely and fully in name’s heart and mind.
Psalm 91 has many verses to protect the person you are praying for, and also to protect you as you engage in spiritual warfare with Jesus by your side.
Ephesians 6:10-18 describes the perfectly fitting armour of God that we use to take our stand against the lies and schemes of the enemy.
Be blessed in your battles – you are called to victory!
